Our story
Residential Recruitment was launched in 2019 by husband and wife Rhys and Rhiannon Hughes, inspired by shared values. Our aim is a recruitment service that puts the wellbeing of children and young people at the forefront.
We look beyond qualifications. We match the right personalities with the right teams, because how well someone fits a home’s culture matters as much as the skills they bring.
For candidates, our approach is thorough and personal. We start with your experience, your motivations and why you’re looking for a change. For homes, we take the time to understand the setting and the qualities that matter to the team you want to build. We think about support, environment and team fit so that placements last.
We recruit only for children’s residential childcare, from support workers to Responsible Individuals.
Rhiannon is care experienced and has worked in health and social care, so she understands the work from the ground up.
We’re a small, family-run business, so you deal with people who know you and your needs, from the first conversation onwards.
Meet the team
Rhiannon has a deeply personal connection to residential childcare. As a looked-after child herself, and with a background working directly in health and social care, she brings unique insight into the challenges homes face. She knows how much a strong staff team matters, and her mission is to give her clients the most important tool for success: a strong team.
Rhys has over 20 years’ experience in recruitment, with a successful career across Europe supporting market leaders in the IT industry. He prides himself on connecting professionals with organisations whose values align with his own, and co-founded Residential Recruitment in 2019.
Rianna brings 15 years’ experience in a corporate environment, a relaxed style of recruitment and a strong understanding of the client’s perspective. She works closely with candidates and clients to build strong relationships and match like-minded people. The result is long-term placements and the best possible conditions for children and young people to thrive.
